Here at Apprentify, we are committed to providing a caring, friendly and safe environment for all our Apprentices, so that they can learn in a relaxed and secure atmosphere. We believe every Apprentice should be able to participate in all learning and social activities in an enjoyable and safe environment and be protected from harm. We put the well-being of our Apprentices at the heart of what we do and we are always here to listen.

Apprentify has a duty to safeguard and promote the well-being of children (under the age of 18), young and vulnerable people. This includes the need to ensure that all adults who work with children, young and vulnerable people are competent, confident and safe to do so. Safeguarding means ‘recognising that the needs, wellbeing, and safety of all apprentices and staff and that actions relating to this are in line with legislation, recommendations and guidelines. All adults who work with children, young and vulnerable people are accountable for the way in which they exercise authority, manage risk, use resources and safeguard children, young and vulnerable people.
Local authorities have overarching responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children, young and vulnerable people in their area. This includes specific duties in relation to children (under the age of 18) in need and children suffering, or likely to suffer, significant harm, regardless of where they are found under sections 17 and 47 of the Children Act 1989 (amended 2004).
Whilst local authorities play a lead role, safeguarding children, young and vulnerable people and protecting them from harm is everyone’s responsibility. Everyone who encounters children, young and vulnerable people have a role to play.
Safeguarding is the action that is taken to promote the welfare of children, young and vulnerable people and protect them from harm. Safeguarding means: protecting children, young and vulnerable people from abuse and maltreatment. preventing harm, health or development.

Chevonne James is our Designated Safeguarding Lead. She leads the safeguarding team at Apprentify ensuring we are meeting the statutory requirements of safeguarding our apprentices.
Shannon Walsh is one of our Designated Safeguarding Officers and our Specialist Talent Consultant. She works in the safeguarding team at Apprentify ensuring we are meeting the statutory requirements of safeguarding our apprentices.
Chris Elphick is one of our Designated Safeguarding Officers and our Learning Support Assitant Executive. He works in the safeguarding team at Apprentify ensuring we are meeting the statutory requirements of safeguarding our apprentices.

It is the responsibility of the employer to ensure employees working alongside Apprentices have had the relevant DBS checks and of sound character and judgement and will not pose as any threat or danger to Apprentices.
The Safeguarding Policy for Apprentify reflects the importance of our responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of all our apprentices and staff by protecting them from physical, sexual or emotional abuse, neglect and bullying.
The main aims of this policy are to ensure that staff are working together and fully engaged in being vigilant about raising awareness, embedding and monitoring safeguarding; that they overcome professional disbelief that such issues will not happen at Apprentify and ensure that we work alongside other professional bodies and agencies to ensure that our apprentices and staff are safe from harm.
Here at Apprentify, we are always trying to improve, this does not just mean we are trying to develop our apprenticeship delivery, but also the ways we can care for the safety and wellbeing of our apprentices.
For this reason, we offer safeguarding support 8am-6pm, 5 days per week. The first port of call should still be to complete the online form found above, or in an extreme emergency, call the police
