Apprentify are hiring on behalf of our client for an IT Apprentice to join their team.
Job Purpose
To provide assistance/support to the IT Technician, staff, pupils and parents plus other stakeholders.
To support in day-to-day functioning of the school’s ICT systems, comprising a variety of different technologies and ticketing system to aid all of their end users in raising standards and accessing educational resources.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responding to IT support requests from staff and students in a professional and timely manner.
- Troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues.
- Maintaining accurate records of support requests, resolutions, and relevant information in the ticketing system.
- Installing, configuring, and updating software applications and operating systems on workstations.
- Assisting with setting up and configuring new user accounts and devices.
- Supporting with routine maintenance tasks, such as system updates, backups, and system performance monitoring.
- Assisting with troubleshooting network connectivity issues and resolve them promptly.
- Collaborating with the IT Support team to identify and implement improvements to systems and processes.
- Assisting with managing hardware and software inventory, including tracking, and organising IT assets.
- Developing user-friendly documentation and guides for common IT procedures and issues.
- Conducting training sessions for staff and learners on basic IT skills and best practices.
General:
- To play a full part in the life of the academy community, to support the academy ethos and to encourage staff and students to follow this example.
- To actively promote academy policies, uphold the principles, and all relevant statutory requirements, including the Equality Act, the HASWA, GDPR and Safeguarding, including Prevent.

Essential experience:
- Be able to demonstrate experience of providing effective IT support.
- Experience of using and developing IT systems and procedures.
Advantageous to your success in providing IT Support:
- Experience with MS Windows server 2022/2025 and beyond or Small Business Server product series
- Advanced experience with MS Windows 10 & 11 and beyond
- Basic Understanding of TCP/IP networking
- Microsoft Office 365 installation and operating
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Teams
- Understanding of Microsoft Exchange 365 Admin
- Understanding of Microsoft intune & Endpoint Manager Admin
- Understanding of Microsoft Entra/ Admin
- Basic Understanding of 3cx and Yealink IP phone systems
- Full UK driving licence

Training to be provided
You will be enrolled onto the groundbreaking, Level 3 Apprenticeship 'Information Communications Technician - Support'.
Information communications technicians support the delivery of efficient IT operations, this could be installing and configuring computer systems, diagnosing hardware and software faults, solving technical and applications problems either remotely or in person, including resolving issues such as slow performance, connection problems and an inability to access data.
Our ICT apprenticeship covers topics allowing apprentices to support organisations relying on computer and communication systems in all areas of their operations and decision-making processes. As an ICT apprentice, you will develop skills and knowledge of the industry by learning key IT essentials such as fault finding and diagnostics, preventative measures, routine maintenance, system tools and testing. You will also gain an awareness of cloud systems and physical and virtual network components including an awareness of security and firewalls, network architecture, protocols and principles of database migration.
Whether you have experience within the field or not Apprentify’s level 3 ICT apprenticeship will give you the tools to get your career started within IT support.
