Cryptonews is one of the leading news and information websites in the crypto media space. 

For this junior role, we are looking for a self-motivated person who loves writing and is interested in cryptocurrencies. 

You will be writing news that must be informative and engaging. The ideal candidate will always be eager to learn how to improve.

Formal journalistic training is not required, but the successful candidate must have a good command of written English and, ideally, a grasp of the five Ws of news gathering (who, what, when, where, why). Training will be provided so that you can develop and apply these skills. 

You will be a fast learner, able to work under instruction, but also someone who is brimming with ideas – a team player who’s always willing to try something new. 

You will take to working in our fast-paced and versatile media environment like a fish to water. Flexibility and adaptability are important assets for the successful candidate.

Your core role will be producing timely news content that adds value to the newsdesk’s output. This will include straight news coverage and learning to produce more price-centric stories focused on coin market performance. Again, training will be provided.

You will be happy to take on other editorial tasks, such as writing informational content.

You will have the opportunity to learn and develop reporting skills as you grow into the role and acquire specialisms in areas you find most interesting.

To support you in the role of a junior journalist and to help you in your work, guidance will be provided by more experienced or senior colleagues.

A plus would be some appreciation of the importance of good search engine optimisation in effective news writing, but training will be provided.

Training to use tools and resources such as data sources, image libraries and SEO research will be provided.

Entry requirements

A minimum of grade 4/C or above in both Maths & English at GCSE level (evidence required).

Ability to work remotely is key.

A clear interest in Crypto Currency.

The primary duties we cover on our Content Creator apprenticeship are:

• Plan and develop creative content aligned with the brief and budget/costs.
• Interpret the strategy and objectives of the brand and align these to the content.
• Research, prepare and develop the media messaging to maximise audience engagement.
• Develop and create written content for various media.
• Create visual and audio content for multiple media.
• Store content securely and methodically to enable efficient access and retrieval.
• Collaborate with colleagues and clients to plan and align content delivery with business objectives.
• Manage content online using appropriate tools and techniques.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of the content produced against the original plan and recommend improvements.

Things to consider

Fully remote position - High level of trust given to the successful candidate. Must have a clear and evidencable interest in Crypto currency. Necessary equipment provided and full onboarding process. Opportunity to experience the business from top to bottom, working across multiple departments.

Future Prospects

Full-time opportunity upon completion of the apprenticeship. Nationally recognised apprenticeship qualification in Content Creation.
