Desoutter offers the manufacturing industry class leading tooling products (electric & pneumatic products, aftermarket solutions and accessories). Our target markets include Automotive, Automotive Aftermarket, Aerospace, Light Assembly and General Industry

Our UK Business is now looking for a Trainee Sales Engineer. Initially working at our Innovation Centre in Congleton, you will be working alongside the internal sales team to learn our ERP and CRM systems and how we engage with customers post order. You will quickly move into our engineering department where you will learn the fundamentals of our product portfolio before progressing to working externally with the sales and operations teams.

Job description:

  • Develop a good understanding of how we go to market.
  • Learn how to use our CRM ( Salesforce ) effectively and efficiently
  • Develop a good working understanding of our ERP system ( SAP )
  • Engage with our existing customers and partners to drive sales and keep a good / high level of engagement
  • Follow up sales orders to make sure of on time delivery
  • Maximize our penetration with existing customers with a view of increasing Customer Share and selling our full eco system
  • Develop your understanding of our products to enable you to make sure we become First In Mind First In Choice for our full eco system.
  • Drive every opportunity to increase our service revenue.
  • Become a key member of the sales team.
  • Sell the Value of Desoutter and why customers should be buying from us.

Training to be provided

A Sales Executive is a sales person working in either the Business to Business or Business to Consumer markets with the responsibility to sell a specific product line or service. They plan their sales activities, lead the end-to-end sales interaction with the customer and manage their sales internally within their organisation. They will be responsible for retaining and growing a number of existing customer accounts, and generating new business by contacting prospective customers, qualifying opportunities and bringing the sales process to a mutually acceptable close.

A Sales Executive will develop customer relationships by establishing rapport and building trust and confidence in their own and their organisation’s capabilities through demonstration of detailed product knowledge, competitor knowledge and an understanding of the market in which they operate, and by ensuring a positive customer experience.

Things to consider

Starting salary of £32k. Bonus payments of 5% of base salary. Company car on offer for the right person. Base salary to increase to £34-37k upon successful completion of the apprenticeship.

Salary progression and increased responsibilities in line with completion of programme.
